Relaxing and Rejuvenating

My husband and I spent 4 nights at the Cottage and enjoyed it immensely. We were able to bring our 11 yr old black lab mix with us and that was the icing on the cake. The Cottage was beautiful and the online pictures are exactly what we found when we walked into the house. Very clean and well kept up. Our week in Oct. was very peaceful and relaxing. This allowed us to rejuvenate before returning to the “real” world. We enjoyed Crane’s Pie Pantry and took our dog to Warren Dunes State Park, which has a doggy beach. We ate at Red’s Root Beer Stand in Paw Paw and our dog got his own doggy hot dog there. The Gilmore Car Museum is a beautiful campus with gorgeous cars. Then we would return to the Cottage, sit our on the deck and just smile and take it all in. We hope to return next year!

Our stay at Brower Cottage was perfect! The cottage is comfortable and clean. We’ve had some experiences with listings that didn’t quite live up to the pictures or the description, but Brower Cottage is everything it claims to be and more! The lake is beautiful, the cottage is pretty and comfortable, the lot is private and wooded, and the location is perfect. It’s a great getaway for a couple, or a family vacation for a family with kids and pets.
Wonderful Secluded Waterfront Property

This was our 3rd time at Brower cottage. We have made it a yearly family vacation. The house has everything you could possibly want in a vacation home. We grilled dinner most nights and sat around the fire pit with a great fire every night. The location makes it easy to visit many towns in the area like Saugatuck, South Haven, and Holland. We pick apples, blueberries, and whatever else is ripe for picking. We always take the kayaks out for a spin around the lake and relax in the blow up chairs in the water. Probably the best feature of the house is the dock. Coffee out there in the morning and wine at sunset.

Very special place!

Brower cottage did not disappoint! The views from the living room are picture perfect, especially when sitting in the comfy chair and ottoman.
All the furnishings were attractive and comfortable, including the beds.
We enjoyed watching our favorite shows on TV and listening to my Pandora stations.
The kitchen had all the cookware, utensils and dishes
I needed to fix meals. The cottage was also well stocked with paper goods and cleaning supplies. I didn’t have to buy anything!
My grandsons came for a visit for a few days. They loved the bunk beds, playing on the dock and swimming.
We did do some exploring in the area. . . the Outdoor Discovery Center, shopping in Holland and Saugatuck and visiting Windmill Island Gardens. The flowers everywhere were beautiful.
Of course, being close to Crane’s Restaurant and Pie Pantry, and their U-pick orchards was a real bonus. They have 30,000 trees!
Anytime I had a question or concern the owner was quick to answer my messages and offer his help. I will definitely stay at Brower cottage again.

Brower Cottage on Hutchins Lake was perfect for our extended family we had three couples, 2 infants and 2 dogs for the week. The property was well maintained and beautiful. The house was very clean with a lot of updates. The kitchen was stocked with pots, pans, spices, oils – making our stay welcome and very comfortable. The hosts, Joe and Jamie, were easy to communicate with – the whole week was just a great family memory..

This was our second time staying at Brower Cottage. We were happy to have perfect weather and be able to use the canoe and kayaks…perfect for our kids to learn and practice some independence on the water in a safe space. It was great! The cottage itself is so nice and cozy. The area is charming. We hope to return in the future!
We love Brower Cottage

Brower Cottage is a great place to stay in the area. Very peaceful, lakefront with a pier. We caught some big fish, including a pike, right off the pier. The home is very well cared for and clean. The hosts are the best. Have come here 4 times now and will keep coming back. Just perfect for a get away, very close to many things but still removed from the Saugatuck crowds.
What a sweet little cottage! The view of the lake is breathtaking.

We had a delightful time. Love the location near Saugatuck and Holland. The lake is beautiful. Can’t wait to come back in the summer.

I have been a frequent visitor to Brower Cottage over the last 7 or 8 years. The area and the Cottage never disappoint. Hutchins Lake is beautiful no matter what the weather, and there is much to do, see, and explore in the charming towns of Saugatuck, Douglas and Fennville. The Cottage provides a delightful and comfortable base. A great place for adults and children alike!
Perfect Stay

We had such a great trip coming up here to stay. Perfect location close to downtown and wineries. Deck, fire pit, and dock are all you need for a weekend away. Owners are truly the kindest people. House well stocked with everything you would need. We definitely hope to come back for another girl’s trip!
Great cozy lakefront cottage with all the amenities of home.

Third year of wonderful!

Another wonderful time even if quite chilly. It didn’t stop the children from going swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding. The cottage was clean and comfortable as usual. Unfortunately, the grill was not clean. But, with some elbow grease we were able to grill. Thanks again, Joe. We look forward to next year.
Total Relaxation
5/5 Stayed Sep 2022 – Cynthia C.
The cottage is lovely and the owners have equipped it with everything you need to move right in and relax. The well appointed kitchen allows for easy meal prep. Puzzles and games assure you will have something to do on rainy days. The owners are available should you need them, but communicate well and take such good care of the cottage you are unlikely to need anything.

My three year old calls it his “new house” for a reason. The home has everything you need and the location can’t be beat. This was our third stay at the cottage and we are already thinking about the next one!

We were fortunate to have another wonderful stay at Brower Cottage, which is extremely well-appointed with kitchenware and water toys. The kids were in the water the whole time, fishing, swimming and paddling around with the kayak, canoe and paddle board. We put together one of the many puzzles on a cloudy morning, and the kids had a blast with the board games and smart TV in the evening while we took in magical sunsets down at the water. Our dog was living his best life playing fetch all week as well. Perfect way to cap off our summer! Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful lake house.

We just got back from a wonderful week at the Brower cottage. It was my family – 2 kids 9 & 11 and our year and half old lab. This was ideal for everyone including the dog. The access to the water is fantastic! The dog and kids played for hours in the water just off the dock. They had multiple kayaks, a paddle board, and a big “lily” pad the the girls loved using and playing on. The cottage was perfect for our family and in pristine condition. We were only 10-15 minutes from downtown Douglas and Saugatuck and only 5 minutes from downtown Fennville. We loved the fact that our dog was able to come with us and participate in the vacation. It was an awesome cottage that made for a great vacation.
Great place for a vacation
5/5 Stayed Jul 2022 – David D.USA
Brower Cottage is always fun and relaxing. Provides all the things you want in a vacation stay. Really enjoyed the canoe, kayaks, and fishing from the dock. We especially enjoyed having a campfire by the water after a day of fun on the water or partaking of the many local things to do. Owners are great to work with and very accommodating.
Excellent!

Great View, Great Cottage, and Great Lake Toys
5/5 Stayed Jun 2022 – Mary P.
This cottage packs it all in. I think this place must have been on HGTV’s Vacation House Rules. The inside has been completely updated and the owners have everything you need for a good/relaxing time (games, books, kitchen items, outdoor furniture, water toys, etc.) The lake view is great from the living room, dining room, deck, yard, and dock. There’s shallow water at the dock which would be great for little kids/dogs. My crew are teens+ and we loved the sandy lake bottom for easing into the water. We used a kayak, and some flotation devices. All were great for lake fun. The lot is fairly private with one neighbor not visible due to foliage. There’s enough lawn for running around. There’s a pie shop (Cranes) nearby and a few wineries too! The only drawback to this cottage is that three of the beds (bunk plus single) are in the living room area. They fit the space well and this worked fine for us but it may not work for everyone. Overall, we loved this place and would rent it again.
Excellent family vacation!

We were delighted to stay at Brower Cottage. Well-appointed kitchen, plenty of fun board games, an abundance of water toys, a smart tv for down time, comfy beds. The kids caught bass and other fish out in the canoe, spent hours paddle boarding and floating, and enjoyed trips to Saugatuck & Douglas. We loved seeing the swan family swim by the dock, keeping an eye out for toads and turtles, and eating meals while looking out at the incredible view. Thankful for this awesome kick-off to summer!
Another Splendid Stay

I have been a regular visitor to Brower Cottage for years. I always find what I need there, be it peace and quiet or a base for lots of fun outdoor activities. The Cottage has always been well maintained. This time I was truly impressed by a new cleaning service; everything was spotless, and the beds made up as in top hotels. Also lots of streaming services were added to the TV set-up which made downtime fun, and there were new and very welcome changes to the outdoor fire pit and chairs.
I cannot recommend Brower highly enough, whether for a long weekend or a lengthier vacation.
Relaxing getaway
5/5 Stayed May 2022 – Stephanie B.Chicago, IL
My husband and I spent a few days at Brower Cottage with our 5 month old son and golden retriever, Gracie. We loved being right on the lake, our dog went swimming every day and had the time of her life (there is also a hose outside on the lower level of the house to give your dog a bath after those lake swims, this was so helpful!)
The cottage is tucked away on a dead end road surrounded by a few other houses, but we barely noticed them. The cottage is equipped with anything you could need for a wonderful stay–where do I begin! The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen and bathroom are updated, laundry is on-site if you need it, there is access to streaming services for rainy days (what a nice touch!), and the dock has actually received an upgrade to a metal one (vs. the wood one seen in photos) for enjoying lovely sunsets. The cottage is situated just a few minutes from downtown Fennville where we stocked up on groceries and got a few takeout meals, and is a short drive to Saugatuck/Douglas.
The only downside to our stay was the amount of bugs outside the property. The cottage is surrounded by large beautiful trees so there are of course bound to be bugs, but we must’ve caught the right time of year for them to be all over the place. Overall I’d definitely stay here again, we had a lovely time!
Excellent

We stayed at the cottage during Thanksgiving break. I loved being in this space! The view of the lake was so peaceful. I would love to return when the weather is warmer and take advantage of more outdoor activities.
The surrounding area/towns are beautiful as well!
Always wonderful!

As with all of my visits to Brower Cottage (this was #9 or #10,), this one was wonderful. I have raved about the cottage, the location, the restaurants, the galleries in earlier reviews.
This time I had a guest with me who had never been to Brower before. He is a cyclist and found many terrific rides/routes that were challenging but beautiful.
As I have said in reviews before, Brower Cottage and southwestern Michigan really do have something for everyone. What a great place for a getaway!!
Wonderful

We enjoyed this cottage with our lab mix. Being on a lake added to our dog’s enjoyment of our trip. The cottage is very clean and the hosts are accommodating to the needs of their guests. We have stayed here five times over the past six years. And have enjoyed every trip.
Wonderful as always

I have been an annual visitor to Brower Cottage for the past six or seven years. It is a magical spot! The accommodations and the area are both splendid, and I always have a terrific time. The pandemic interfered with my trip last year, but this year I spent a week at Brower in June and several weeks in October. The Cottage and Lake Hutchins are beautiful at any time of year, and I can report that the shops, restaurants, and galleries in Saugatuck and Douglas are rebounding well from the hit they took because of Covid. I returned to Ohio totally refreshed from my time in the Cottage, loaded with pies from Cranes, some wonderful artwork from local galleries, & memories of first-class local meals. It is really a perfect spot for family vacations or relaxing getaways. I recommend it without reservation.
Quiet, clean get a away

Very quiet and clean. The cottage is in a secluded area with neighbors yet close enough to several towns making it easy to grab a meal, shop, hang out or if you needed something. Indoor amenities were modern and there were several outdoor spots to relax or enjoy nature, including the beautiful lake.

The cottage was exactly as advertised. It was a perfect relaxing escape from work and the city. The kitchen was well supplied with everything we needed. We had one small difficulty when entering the property, but Joe picked up on the first ring and it was taken care of instantly. We can’t wait to return.

We visited Browerer earlier in the year and loved it so much we rented for 10 days in September. The place is beautiful and overlooks the scenic Hutchins Lake. Brower has everything we needed for the extended stay and we felt right at home. We can’t wait to return!
Another wonderful stay!

We stayed at the cottage a few years ago and I have to say, this time was even better. My son kept calling it “New House” and was very sad when we left. It was very clean and had everything we could have needed. Great location too – we loved the quiet of the lake but were within 15 minutes of Saugatuck. We’ll be back!
We have stayed at Brower Cottage and it never disappoints!!

Joe the owner is the best! He called us on day of arrival to see if we needed anything and let us know to call if we do. I would definitely recommend Brower cottage the view from the deck and living room are beautiful. We did some swimming, kayaking and fishing. Our dog Lucy loved her morning walks and swimming in the lake. This is our 4th stay at Brower cottage and planning on a 5th..😊

Brower Cottage
4/5 – Stayed Aug 2021 – Cheryl K.
The property is a in a great location. It was well stocked with everything we needed. Wonderful views from every window. The floors looked as if they were not cleaned or swept before our arrival. The requirement for the rental stated “no pets allowed” and it looked as if a long haired cat or dog had stayed there. There was gray hair all over the floor, which I had to sweep up. The TV stand needed a good dusting. The television was very had to work. The remotes were off sync . We enjoyed the town of Fennville, liked that the grocery was only 4 minutes away, and it is a good location for visiting Saugatuck and Holland.
Another perfect stay!

The location is great on a quiet lake that has a ton to do. The house is well stocked and the property owners were very helpful throughout the week. We had several young kids with us and they enjoyed fishing, canoeing, swimming off the dock, and the late night smores! Short drive to great breweries, fruit farms, and the beach. This was the relaxing week our family needed!
We love Brower Cottage!

This cottage has it all. It sits on a quiet lake perfect for fishing and swimming, has a boat house with kayaks, SUP, canoe and other lake toys, plus a great deck for meals or remote work, and very clean, updated kitchen and bathroom. There are books, puzzles, games and movies galore as well. Our three kids (ages 4-10) and dog had the time of their lives! Over the wknd, a friend joined with their tent, and we camped out next to the lake. The sunsets over the lake were magical. We last visited this lovely cottage over a decade ago. It was just as wonderful back then, and has only gotten better with the kitchen/bathroom renovations. We can’t wait to return. Thank you for sharing your peaceful place with us, Joe & Jamie. It was the highlight of our summer!
Always a treat!

Brower Cottage is one of my favorite getaways, but it was especially wonderful after 14 months of pandemic isolation. Love the beauty of the area, the restful ness of the lake setting, the charm of the cottage, and the shops, galleries and restaurants in Saugatuck, Douglas and Fennville. I have vacationed here for many years and am never disappointed.

The home was absolutely beautiful. My wife and I spent her 40th birthday weekend here and loved it. Our plan was to spend most of the days lounging on the deck, but as beautiful as those views were, the views we’re even better from inside the house. Lovely, clean house with a beautiful deck and dock to lounge on. Good fishing too. If looking for a nice, quiet, peaceful getaway, this is the home for you!
Perfection

Charming cottage on a lake.

We, as usual, had a wonderful vacation with Broward Cottage as our home away from home. The location is ideally situated for short trips to Douglas, Fennville, and Saugatuck while still being peacefully remote, allowing for quiet time. And, you will NEVER tire of getting up in the morning and gazing out onto the lake. The lake side of the house is all large windows.
There is a thoughtfully stocked kitchen as well as lots of games, puzzles and books. And, the house is spotlessly clean!
Joe and Jamie get it all right

Fall Family Getaway

My husband, my parents, my sister, and I booked this house for a fall weekend getaway, a nice central location from our homes in IL and MI. We spent a ton of time at the house enjoying the gorgeous lake views, cooking, and playing games. We made a few trips out and about to Saugatuck/Douglas, Virtue Cider, Salt of the Earth, and Waypost Brewing, all excellent and nearby. We had a wonderful long weekend and would recommend this house for others looking for an adult weekend away this fall or winter.

Loved our stay!

It’s easy to see why so many people return over and over to this property. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our extended weekend at Brower Cottage. The location is great – close enough to Douglas and Saugatuck, wineries, farm stands, etc. but on a quiet cul-du-sac with an incredible view of Hutchins Lake. Because of the pandemic, we made more meals than we normally would have but the well-stocked kitchen made this a breeze. The cottage is cozy, updated and truly lovely. We are already looking forward to our next stay!

We are so excited to go back!

The cottage is wonderful, and even better than 2 years ago with the kitchen and bath updates. We love the setting, amenities, location, etc. Joe was fantastic. Through all of the Covid changing parameters and details, his communication was timely, and detailed … though it’s always been great. He was very accommodating, doing his best to work us in so we could vacation this year at Brower Cottage. Look forward to coming back … the experience has been a great blend of an exceptional rental and excellent and owner!

Another Perfect Visit

I am never disappointed with my stay at Brower Cottage. That I have returned 7 or 8 times is testament to how much I enjoy it. The cottage is great; the area is wonderful fun; the lake is a treasure. I always think it can’t get any better, but the owners always manage to add something new between visits. This time it was a new door and combination lock, both of which are wonderful. I’d like to install a similar system at my home! Can’t wait for my next visit to Brower Cottage— vacation at its best!

Cute Cottage in Lovely Area

We had a relaxing week at this cottage with our two teens and dog. The cottage has two bedrooms with extra beds in the living area. A large bank of windows overlooks the lake, which is beautiful and provides a different vista at various times of the day and over the course of the week. The owners allow you the use of their canoe, kayaks, and other lake toys and that really enhanced our experience. The house aesthetic is so charming with a mix of mid-century modern and casual cottage decor touches. The kitchen had everything you would need for making basic family meals. We enjoyed hiking at Saugatuck Dunes State Park (went here twice), checking out local restaurants (Root, Everyday People, and Crane’s were favorites), browsing in Saugatuck, and painting pottery at Express Yourself Art Barn on a rainy day. We had a hiccup upon checking in when our lock code was incorrectly set and we couldn’t reach the owner, which was worrisome, but everything was sorted out quickly after we made contact and we were offered fair compensation for the inconvenience. Apparently a new lock is being installed and additional contact numbers will be listed so this should not be a problem for future renters.
Perfect

The house was wonderful. It was extremely clean and comfortable. We felt completely at home. The view was beautiful. The location was close to Saugatuck and many restaurants. We will plan on staying again in the future.
Beautiful setting
5/5 – Stayed Jun 2019 – Sara D.
The house was neat as a pin, beautifully decorated and cozy. We loved the full windows facing the lake (even turned the couch so we faced it instead of the TV!) Quiet street- plenty of privacy from neighbors. We loved sitting on the deck watching herons and a swan family on the water.
If you are looking for perfect this is it!
5/5 – Stayed May 2019 – jacqueline c.
We stay here every year. The cottage is sparkling clean and the owners are always available and responsive. Also, it has been recently impeccably renovated. It is in a great location, minutes from Fennville, Douglas, Saugatuck and Lake Michigan.
Go. Enjoy! And have pie from Cranes!
Great stay!

This was our second time at Brower cottage. It was beautiful as always.
The Perfect Getaway
5/5 – Stayed May 2019
This was my 7th stay at Brower Cottage. Love the house; love the area; love the owners, who are always such a pleasure to deal with! I actually didn’t think a stay at Brower Cottage could get any better, but on this last visit I found a beautifully renovated kitchen and bathroom. What a wonderful place, whether one is looking for peace and solitude, outdoor fun on the lake, unique shopping opportunities, or very good restaurants. Brower Cottage has my highest recommendation.
Nice quiet retreat for a weekend.
4/5 – Stayed Oct 2018 – Ervin D.
Everything was as advertized and ready as promised. We appreciated the before and after phone calls by the owner. He also sent us on some suggested places to dine.Nice place and would recommend this location. Would like to return in the summer months?
Very comfortable and clean cottage on the lake

We have stayed several times and each time has been enjoyable and we always look forward to returning. Jamie and Joe make sure that your stay is great!
My sixth visit, my sixth perfect stay!
5/5 – Stayed Oct 2018
I simply love this cottage. As always, I hated to leave on the final day and cannot wait for my next visit. The house is very nicely furnished, immaculate, and so very peaceful (though I hasten to say there is much to do for those who want to use the lake for more than an appreciation of the view!). The small towns in the area are charming; the restaurants very good, with a couple being exceptional. Brower Cottage is a treasure, no matter what the season. I’ll be booking soon for visit 7.
The perfect little cottage on a hill

We are repeat visitors. This little gem continues to get it right. Always perfectly clean and tidy, solicitous thoughtful owners and just the right amenities. It is always a pleasure to vacation here.
Beautiful view!

The cottage was lovely. Peaceful, quiet, tranquil setting. Very well equipped, organized and clean. Beautiful view of the lake and only minutes away from Holland or Saugatuck area. Great communication with the owner!
Great little cottage with a Lake view

Made last minute reservations when our beach rental was cancelled due to hurricane Florence. Brower Cottage was a nice quiet getaway but also close to Lake Michigan towns and restaurant. Also clean and nicely equipped.
peaceful and beautiful

Great to get back to Brower Cottage. Quiet setting, beautiful view and a super clean cottage stocked with everything we needed.
Awesome!
5/5 – Stayed Sep 2018 – Bill S.
Great location, beautiful lake views, lovely cottage and super host. Very clean and well-appointed cottage with everything you need. Comfortable beds, nice linens and towels. Kitchen is very well equipped. Great Weber grill. There’s a kayak and a canoe in the boat house along with lifejackets. The Crane Pie Shop and beautiful orchards are within walking distance. We had a wonderful time and we certainly will want to return. Thanks, Joe!
The cottage was in a great spot on the lake
5/5 – Stayed Sep 2018 – Kelly J.
Brower Cottage sits right on the lake. It is clean, comfortable and a great place to relax and take in the sights. We enjoyed the sunsets and lake. Our dog had a great time swimming!
Lake life as it should be
5/5 – Stayed Jul 2018 – Susan C.
For many years a Michigan summer vacation is a tradition. I have stayed at several small lakes around the South Haven-Saugatuck area and never have I stayed at a more perfect spot. The cottage is what a “cottage” should be overlooking a clean, large, healthy lake with all lake amenities. The veiw accross the road is a scene out of Italy with rolling hills and orchards. My sister and I hated to leave. The owner, Joe, thought of everything. When I win the lottery I am going to make him an offer he can’t refuse.
Perfect family vacation spot
5/5 – Stayed Jul 2018 – Ronne M.
Joe Bianco is a great host and this is a great property. Communication is great, any issues that arise are addressed immediately, and the place is kept spotless. We look forward to our 1-week stay every year with our 3 little ones at Brower Cottage.
Peaceful!
5/5 – Stayed Jul 2018 – R S.
Amazing location right on the lake and near the orchard. Very attentive owners. The thoughtful extras such as kayaks, water toys etc enhanced our experience even more. Great place to relax and unwind.
Perfect vacation spot
5/5 – Stayed Jun 2018 – Trista J.
We had three boys ages 12,9,22 months. They loved the water toys! They even had water floats and life jackets all ready to use. The view of the lake from the cottage is beautiful. The cottage had games, puzzles, high chair, marshmellow pockers and anything you would possibly need.
Outstanding Cottage!
5/5 – Stayed Jun 2018 – Frank S.
First time to this place. Welcomed to a very clean and well maintained cottage. The deck has an awesome view of the lake. The property is well kept and enjoyed a evening marshmallow roast at the fire pit. A great place to relax and wind down. The master bed was a little soft for my liking. I would return and enjoy another weekend here!
Great Stay at Brower Cottage!
5/5 – Stayed Jun 2018 – Kristen T.
We had a great time staying at Brower Cottage. The cottage itself was super cute, clean, and stocked with your basic essentials (towels, soap, toilet paper, cookware, etc). We loved the decor of the house and the view/proximity to Lake Hutchins was amazing! The location of the cottage is perfect: you’re close to Lake Michigan, Holland, wineries and breweries but also far enough away to feel the seclusion of the lake and cottage. It was also great that we could bring our dog with us. The owners were super nice and helpful throughout the process as well. I would absolutely recommend Brower Cottage and hope to be back!
Wonderful vacation!
5/5 – Stayed Jun 2018 – Sharon W.
This was our 3rd trip to Brower Cottage. It’s always clean and very well equipped. We enjoyed a couple trips to Saugatuck and Holland but really prefer just to stay at the cottage and enjoy the lake and relax on the deck. Our golden retriever was always anxious to get down to the dock. Looking forward to returning next year.
Very nice house at a wonderful Lake! We enjoyed it!!!
5/5 – Stayed May 2018 – Sven H.
We can just recommend this place as it was very nice!
Cute, Cozy and wonderful view!
4/5 – Stayed May 2018 – Sue C. Cincinnati, OH/N. KY
We so enjoyed our stay at Brower Cottage! Celebrated our 25th anniversary and it was just the right size for the two of us and our small dog! There’s a 2nd bedroom with bunks if you bring kids along. We enjoyed coffee with a view every morning. Also, had a couple happy hour drinks down on the dock! It is a beautiful lake, so serene. We even watched ‘On Golden Pond’ one rainy day (the cottage has a well-stocked collection of DVD’s). We also loved the proximity to Douglas/Saugatuck and Holland, MI. A very nice place to stay! We will be back one day!
This tidy little bungalow never fails to please
5/5 – Stayed May 2018 – jacqueline c.
I have been going here for years. The owners are very thoughtful and solicitous. The house is always clean and welcoming. When I am ready for a vacation in Michigan this is where I go. Location is great. Minutes from Saugautauk, Douglas and Lake Michigan. And pie, don’t forget the pie! You can’t go wrong with this sweet little house.
5th Visit— wonderful as always
5/5 – Stayed May 2018
The glory of Brower Cottage is that you can be as serene and reflective or as active and outdoorsy as you want— and have an equally wonderful time either way.. The Cottage is clean and lovely; the location on a bluff above the lake lends itself to stunning views no matter what the weather. There is much to do on-site and in the area.My best recommendation?….. I’ll be back for visit 6 this fall!
Paradise in Fennville, lakes, orchards, beauty for days and a wonderful home to enjoy it in.
5/5 – Stayed Nov 2017 – Cathy M. Livonia Michigan
This was the most well equipped cottage I have ever rented in over 25 years. Everything was included, paper products, personal care, iron, hairdryer, big TV with hundreds of channels, a Klipsch audio system, a Nest heating/cooling system. No detail was overlooked. Nearly floor to ceiling windows for a full lake view. Comfortable and new furniture, appliances and most importantly – the beds. It was a little chilly in November but the deck and grounds were immaculate and highly functional. Our dog loved hunting the squirrels and walking thru the orchard behind the property. The house is light and airy, with beautiful art and carvings throughout. Nice flooring, window treatments, doors with plenty of space. It feels much bigger than 1,000 sq feet because of the open floor plan.
The location was great for restaurants, (great perch at the What Not Inn), wine tasting, and cider. You will want to spend the day at Virtue Ciders, family friendly and you can even bring your dog. It is close to Douglas, Saugatuck and Holland so you can cover a lot of ground without having to drive far. There is so much rich history in this part of the state I never knew about until reading it at the cottage.
The owners are what make this property special. Possibly the most attentive I’ve worked with. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer, more well equipped cottage in this part of the state. I highly recommend this property and we will definitely return for more.
Completely wonderful!

We have been to Brower Cottage many times now, and it never disappoints. It is ALWAYS perfectly clean, ALWAYS great for our dogs, ALWAYS friendly/helpful owners, ALWAYS restful, peaceful….everything we need. Wish there were a Brower Cottage in every resort town I wanted to travel to! THANK YOU for this special cottage!!
Great R & R cottage
5/5 – Stayed Oct 2017 – Patti B.
The cottage is as beautiful as the pictures on the website. It is very clean and equipped with everything that my husband and I needed for our stay. It is nice and quiet at the end of fall, not sure how it is during the summer with people out and about on the lake. The fall lets us go to relax sitting out on the dock or in the cottage with the huge glass windows allowing viewing of the lake and trees. We have been here twice and it is great if you have a furry family member to bring your dog with ok from owners. Another plus, if you like pie, is that it is down the road from Crane’s Pie Pantry and Restaurant, a great place to get pies. I highly recommend this cottage.
Loved the cottage and location. Definitely will try to return!
5/5 – Stayed Oct 2017 – Judy C.
Property is very well maintained. Neat, clean and well stocked with all that could be desired. Very relaxing atmosphere.
Another great experience at Brower
5/5 – Stayed Oct 2017
This was my third stay at the cottage. This time I brought two friends who had not been there before. A testament to how much I love this place is that we all had a great time despite the fact that it poured three of the four days we were there. The cottage is always immaculate, and the views of the lake are stunning in all kinds of weather. We were able to get in the dune buggy ride of the sand dunes during a break in the weather; it was fun and fascinating. Highly recommend. We had to cancel our cruise on the Kalamazoo River and Lake Michigan because of thunder and lightening, but stayed in and took advantage of the time to do puzzles and enjoy the drama of the storm over the lake. While I certainly enjoy the area more when the weather cooperates, Brower Cottage is a great find for a long weekend or a lengthy stay no matter what the elements. Can’t wait for trip #4!
Brower Cottage is perfect!

Had a wonderful time, quiet and enjoyable! Our dogs were able to play outside and in the water, it made it for a relaxing, easy break… loved the lake and kayaking was awesome! The cottage is perfect and comfortable, we much enjoyed our 4 nights stay. Will for sure visit again.
Peaceful quiet and beautiful

We go to Broward cottage usually twice a year. We love everything about it. Joe (the owner) is so accommodating and thoughtful. Proximity to Saugatauk, Douglas and Fennville is perfect while still feeling secluded and quiet. Always a pleasure!
Had a great time

Once again a great stay!

My family and I have been going to Brower Cottage for years. We always have a great stay! The house is always immaculate, and the amenities are awesome! We use the grill, the fire pit, but the kayaks have become our favorite pastime there. The location can’t be beat. It’s down the street from Crane’s, and has easy access to the towns of Saugatauk, South Haven, and Holland. We will definitely keep going!
Perfect setting for our family
5/5 – Stayed Aug 2017 – Leigh S.
With the cottage being on a cul-de-sac and a few short minutes away from the orchard, it was a perfect setting for our family of four. We have two small children and there was never a lack of things to do for entertainment in or around the cottage. Everything was perfect and it truly felt like our home away from home.
Cottage was very clean and well maintained. Many windows to enjoy the beautiful view of the lake.
5/5 – Stayed Aug 2017
Our family really enjoyed our stay at the Brower Cottage. We spent a lot of time sitting on the dock enjoying the view of the lake and took out the canoe and kayaks for some relaxation on the water. There were local fruit picking farms a small distance away from the cottage. Saugatuck and Douglas offered great restaurants if we didn’t feel like cooking. The cottage itself is delightful and super clean. The whole family had a great time…great memories.
Homey, comfortable and quiet lake cottage
5/5 – Stayed Jun 2017 –Linnea B.
We enjoyed our stay at the Brower cottage. It was well stocked with kitchen equipment, ample seating for dining opportunities, had a great window view of the lake, and was very comfortable to be there.. Good water play equipment, television and electronics, patio furnishings, and interior furniture made it extra nice. The street is quiet, with little traffic, and the opportunity to have our dog with us, also made it a good place to be.
So relaxing and wonderful!
5/5 – Stayed Jun 2017 – Misti F.
Our trip to Brower Cottage couldn’t have been better! The owners were so accommodating and wonderful to work with! It was very relaxing and quiet. There were very few people in the surrounding properties which made for a very private feel to the trip, which we loved! Water was perfect and the dogs loved swimming! Thank you for sharing your wonderful property with us!
Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will come back again!

Perfect for a family or romantic vacation!

This place is great! Owners thought of everything (even down to the dog bowls). Such a cute lake house, fully stocked even down to movies and games. Boat house had kayaks and a canoe and everything else you need for a great time on the water. The lake is beautiful and peaceful. Great nights by the fire also. Cannot wait for our next visit. Plus communication was great.
We love this sparkling little cottage.

Relaxing and rejuvenating
5/5 – Stayed Oct 2016 – Patti B.

This is my second extended weekend stay here in a year. Wanted a relaxed, cozy, comfortable get-away and I got it in spades. This time I also had a couple friends come up and spend the night. It’s a perfect location for either staying at the cottage and navel gazing on the deck or the dock, or going in to Douglas or Saugatuck for a meal or wine-tasting or shopping. Perfect!
Absolutley Perfect
5/5 – Stayed Sep 2016 – Tim C.
The cottage is truly amazing . it is so relaxing the beautiful view of the lake from the cottage and deck is something everyone should experience . This was our 2nd time at the cottage and we will be back again next year. A very charming and unique area with plenty to do for everyone.

We stayed the week of September 12th. The weather was perfect.
The Cottage was so nice and clean. It was the perfect size.
The View was beautiful! After going to Saugatuk and Douglas some days we would come back and sit by the water. So relaxing.
Very private. The Lake is beautiful.
We would definitely recommend staying there. Lots to do around there. Cranes orchard and bakery is a must. Delicious!
Thank you Jamie and Joe

Wonderful secluded waterfront property
5/5 – Stayed Sep 2016 – Robin T.
Lovely cabin in west central michigan
5/5 – Stayed Aug 2016 – Ronald R.
My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much. The cottage was exactly as described-clean, well-appointed, and with all the amenities to make our visit comfortable and relaxing. Joe and Jamie are attentive hosts, and communicated promptly upon our arrival to ensure that we found the cabin, and were happy with the accommodations. The view of Hutchins lake is spectacular, and the water was clear, warm, and perfect for swimming and boating. We also enjoyed exploring the area, including downtown Fennville, Douglas, and Saugatuck. We toured some of the beautiful local wineries, and enjoyed many of the area restaurants and shops. Be sure to visit Saugatuck Dunes state park for some great hiking trails and spectacular views of Lake Michigan. Hoping to return soon, and try another Crane’s pie!
Beautiful clean property

We had a wonderful stay. The cottage is beautiful and cozy. We enjoyed a cup of coffee in the morning while watching the sun come up and glistening off the lake. In the evening we took pictures of the breath taking sun sets. We had lunch at Crane’s and Dinner at Salt of the Earth. Both places were recommended by the owners and both were very good. Most of all we enjoyed spending time together and grilling out and relaxing at the cottage.
The owners have truly thought of everything to make your stay PERFECT! We can’t wait to go back.
Great stay

We had such a delightful stay. The house is so inviting and comfortable. The owners are extremely helpful if needed. There is so much to do in the area. The shops in Saugatuck, Saugatuck State Park, Crane’s Apple orchard, and all the restaurants that were recommended are just a few of the things that were wonderful. An all around great visit!

We enjoyed our stay very much, although the weather was cooler than expected. We wanted a place to just relax and cocoon, so this was perfect. Within a half hour’s drive there are several places to antique, art galleries to visit, and u-pick orchards for fruits and berries. Cottage has 20ft window wall with view of lake! We also enjoyed sitting in the Adirondack chairs on the dock watching the sun set.

The perfect cottage vacation.

Perfect vacation, our third time here with our two kids, ages 6 and 4, and our dog. As always, Brower Cottage was in pristine condition. So many stops: Crane’s, Saugatuck Dune Rides, Saugatuck, Douglas, and Holland, horseback riding, and catching fish off the pier every night. We have made this an annual trip for 4 years and are going to keep it up! Thanks Joe!
Beautiful clean and well maintained
5/5 – Stayed Jul 2015
The property is as listed and more! The owners are very easy to work with and their cottage is such a nice place to spend a week. It’s perfect for couples or a friends get away! Build a fire in the fire pit in the back, eat dinner in the deck with a beautiful view, or have coffee on the pier overlooking Hutchins Lake in the morning. Go to Oval Beach to see the “big” lake, or skip cooking and treat yourself to Salt of the Earth– Sunday brunch is a must have!
Perfect Vacation Spot
5/5 – Stayed Jul 2015 – Lu B.
We absolutely loved our week at the Brower Cottage. It is a perfect vacation location. Hutchins Lake is beautiful and the views from the cottage and the pier are stunning. The pictures of the cottage on the website are thorough and accurate and capture the space and charm perfectly. Easy to cook in the kitchen and the Weber gas grill is exactly the one we have at home! We love the hardwood floors, it’s so nice for a rental that gets a lot of activity. Joe, the owner, was easy to contact throughout the reservation process AND our stay. We were here with our dog, who adapted immediately. We look forward to our return next summer. Thank you, Bianco family.

Brower Cottage was a perfect getaway for our family vacation as we celebrated my father’s 60th birthday! The cottage is charming, well stocked, clean and very accommodating in size for a large group. The cottage and grounds are even more beautiful in person than the photos! All the amenities the cottage has to offer are in great condition. The view of Hutchins lake is picturesque from the cottage. The owner of the cottage is great to work with, and calls once you arrive to make sure everything is to your liking and to answer any questions, we greatly appreciated this hospitality! I highly recommend staying at the Brower Cottage, my family and I hope to make it an annual trip!

A lovely, restful vacation spot
5/5 – Stayed Apr 2015
Brower Cottage was a wonderful spot for a getaway: charming, quiet, clean, well-appointed, and perfectly situated on a small bluff above Lake Hutchins. The view each day was spectacular from misty early mornings through sun-dappled afternoons and moonlit evenings. There is plenty to do in the area in addition to the water activities, and after 3 fun-filled days, my sister and I felt refreshed and rejuvenated. She uses a walker, so we particularly appreciated the openness of the layout, the largely uncarpeted floors, and the easy access to the deck and driveway. The only problem we had — being long retired and technology-challenged 70-somethings — is that we didn’t understand how to work the TV/DVD/electronics set-up (although I’m quite sure any 10 year old could have done so without help!). The owner, Joe, was quick to help us with clear directions, and I think it’s a testament to how he thinks ahead of his guests’ comfort that he and his wife have the same set-up in their home in Illinois so that they are able to walk renters through any problems. We couldn’t have asked for a more friendly, helpful landlord or a more perfect mini-vacation. I can’t wait to return with other friends and family, and can recommend Brower Cottage for young and old without reservation.
Clean, quiet, wonderful location, beautiful area

We loved this place. We were there for thanksgiving and the kitchen had everything I needed to make dinner. The cottage was very clean and had everything listed in the description. The owner was/is an excellent communicator. We will be returning. Side bar; Sauatuck and Douglas are wonderful arty nearby towns to enjoy even off season!
Ultimate cottage for family break by the lake!

We LOVED our stay at Brower Cottage, we stayed for 3 nights at the start of November with a 3 year old. The cottage was very clean and tidy, with everything you need to enjoy your stay.
The listing and pictures are very accurate on the website – the only thing I’d mention is that the buk beds are double beds which we didn’t realise, which was not a problem for us, but thought I’d mention it as it’s obviously additional space!
Although the cottage did not have a fire inside, it was really warm and the heating was easy to control. We managed to spend a couple of hours by the outside firepit in the evening, and sat by the lake when the sun went down – which is beautiful!
The owner was easily contactable, and even rang on our first day to check we were ok etc – which was really nice. It was really easy to gain access to the cabin as well. There is a good TV, DVD and games selection for entertainment if it’s not summer.
The kitchen is incredibly well stocked with all utensils, crockery etc you will need and there is also a bbq, and plenty of seating.
We enjoyed crunching through the fall leaves, delicious coffee and gift shops in Saugutuck and spent a whole day antiquing in the area.
We would definitely recommend this to friends and family!

This was our 2nd retreat to Brower Cottage. 5 friends from high school once again shared a lot of laughter in this well kept, cozy cottage. It really had everything we needed and plenty to do in the area. We love the fall here as the colors are always amazing and water is beautiful. We canoed, kayaked, did a lot of walking of course (all the way to the vineyard) and spent each night by the fire. This year we didn’t even head into town. We felt content to just hang at the cottage and enjoy our surroundings. Joe was very responsive to questions and once again welcomed us with a phone call to be sure all well. We have already picked our dates for next year!

I have wanted to stay at Brower Cottage for a few years, unfortunately our calendars never lined up. This year were lucky enough to come twice. The house is near the end of a dead end street. The big side yard and woods on the other side of the house give you lots of space, which is unusual for a lakefront property. Inside, the cottage is super clean. Great views of the lake from the deck, kitchen, dining room and living room. We sat in the adirondack chairs on the dock every morning and evening. The location is perfect. We spent one afternoon in Holland, one in Douglas and one in Saugatuck. Great restaurants, wineries, shopping, breweries, creameries, and a new hard cider mill all within a 10-20 minute drive. Cannot wait to go back.
Peaceful, immaculate lake cottage

Brower Cottage is tucked away along the north shore of beautiful Hutchens Lake. The cottage is extremely family friendly, neat as pin, open and peaceful. The attention to detail was the best I have ever experience in a rental. The cottage was fresh and clean with nice linens and kitchen items. The kayak was a terrific way to explore the entire lake. More rafts, floats and toys than a family could ever need. Easy access to restaurants, orchards for berry picking, and shopping in Douglas or Saugatuck. All around a great week!
Perfect Everytime!

Brower Cottage is a charming, well cared for cottage located on a beautiful lot with a lovely lake in the back. The owners, Joe and Jamie, are the perfect hosts. We have come here for 3 years now (would have been 4 but it got booked up too fast one year!) and we will continue to come back. My husband only gets one or two weeks off per year, and we choose to spend them here!

We had an amazing time at the Brower Cottage!! The owners were incredibly easy to work with, super responsive, and very kind! They made certain every question we had was answered and that everything was as expected on our arrival. The cottage was beautifully decorated, incredibly comfortable, and even better than the pictures! We enjoyed the use of the canoe and kayak, had a bonfire out back, and spent many hours relaxing and talking on the deck by the lake…all of the makings for a wonderful girls weekend! Thank you so much, Joe & Jamie, for a wonderful getaway…we will definitely be back!!!
Clean, cozy and has everything you need!

This was our first time at the Brower Cottage. We were very satisfied. The cottage was very clean, cozy and had several extras that made the stay very comfortable. There are several things to do nearby but we personally just enjoyed the fishing, playing in the water, sitting by the fire, and grilling. We hope to come back again sometime.

I fell in love with this property when I saw it online, and it did not disappoint. The cabin was cozy and comfortable and homey. The view of the lake from the wall of windows made my day every morning. We took advantage of the Adirondack chairs on the dock, and enjoyed the peacefulness of the lake over morning coffee and an evening wine. The cottage is furnished with everything you need, except refrigerator items, which was really nice. We really appreciated that the owners furnished a kayak and a canoe, so we didn’t have to drag ours along. We did have a problem that Joe took care of right away. The TV wouldn’t turn on our first night there. We got ahold of Joe about 9:00 that evening, he called back an hour later saying he had purchased a new TV and would have it delivered and set up in the morning, which it was. The promptness of resolving that problem was much appreciated, since we planned on getting caught up on our movie DVDs on the cool and rainy days, and we had a couple! We will definitely be back
Long weekend getaway!

My husband and I booked the Brower Cottage for three days last May for our anniversary. The property was beautiful; everything was clean and well maintained. We spent a lot of time outside by the water. The owner, Joe, is a great communicator. He recommended a few different places to go at our request. Side note, wine lovers, check out the Fennville Winery right down the street from the cottage. Cider lovers, check out Virtue Cider in Fennville. And, coffee lovers check out Uncommon Grounds in downtown Saugatuck.
Delightful Cottage, Beautiful location

A recent getaway with 5 ladies at Brower Cottage proved to be just what we all needed. Friends for over 40 years, we just wanted a quiet and comfortable place to celebrate friendship and share A LOT of laughter, love and tears. Brower Cottage was perfect in every way. Clean, perfectly maintained, location perfect and MORE than enough to do in the area. We spent our mornings all snuggled together on the couches and love seats overlooking the beautiful lake complete with swans, loons and early morning fisherman. We walked to the local orchards, shopped in Saugatuck and had a wonderful meal at The Everyday Peoples restaurant in Douglas. Everyone in town were so very friendly. Joe could not have been a more attentive host from the moment we inquired about the property to after our visit. We all decided that this location and property was ideal for us to gather every year. Thank you Joe for opening your home and providing all the comforts of home. We loved it so much we didn’t even care that the coffee maker had a mind of its own. LOL We would all highly recommend this cottage.
PERFECT – HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
5/5 – Stayed Sep 2013 – Janet N.
Lake was shallow and safe for little ones, dogs loved it too
Cottage was very well stocked, very clean with good quality furniture – lots of DVD’s and games but not required as the weather was so wonderful
The dock caught the sun in the morning and last thing in the evening, absolutely relaxing to sit there in the peace and quiet
We enjoyed the American traditions – smores over the firepit lit up by the stars over the lake, local apple picking, fishing from the kayak, found our way through the local corn maze – ribs on the grill (all firsts for this “English” family)
Great for little ones (our granddaughter of 18 months wanted to go in the water every chance she got, and the two labs had a great time too!!)
Our family had a wonderful time at this cottage and we are hoping to return next year
Highly recommended

Our stay at Brower Cottage was perfect! The cottage is comfortable and clean. We’ve had some experiences with listings that didn’t quite live up to the pictures or the description, but Brower Cottage is everything it claims to be and more! The lake is beautiful, the cottage is pretty and comfortable, the lot is private and wooded, and the location is perfect. It’s a great getaway for a couple, or a family vacation for a family with kids and pets.
Ultimate relaxing, comfortable, spotless cottage!

From the breathtaking view of the Lake through the large living room windows to the many amenities available, we could not have asked for a more perfect vacation cottage. Dog friendly, waterfront, plenty of room for the whole family, full kitchen, large windows and natural light, firepit, grill, close proximity to downtown Saugatuck. THANK YOU!
Above and Beyond

I’m a creature of comfort. The rest of my clan (partner and two dachshunds) is more adventurous. This place was the best of both worlds for us. I got my connections with the world (TV, internet, etc.) and they got a whole lot of nature (kayaking; adjacent woods, vineyards and cornfields…with a Halloween haunted corn maze to boot). One of the weird “treats” for us was visiting the local Fennville market each night to pick out the evening’s meal. We weren’t exactly pioneers, but we pretended to be. Isn’t that what vacation is about…living a fantasy?
And Furthermore!

I feel very remiss in forgetting to mention a big PLUS in my prior review: Joe and Jamie, your most EXCELLENT hosts. Very attentive and responsive! Folks….rest assured…when you’re at Brower Cottage, you’re in good hands!

Brower Cottage was a wonderful cabin to stay at during our vacation in Saugatuck. It was in a perfect location, close to downtown Saugatuck/Douglas areas and was within easy driving distance to several wineries and Breweries. The cabin was well maintained, clean and had a beautiful view from the back of the house overlooking a lake. We especially loved being able to walk right down to the dock in the morning and relax by the water. Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

What a great place to get away and relax with you’re family. Loved the of the coziness of the cottage and it’s location! The view from the dining room/living room was beautiful and we truly appreciate finding a vacation spot that is dog friendly. The dogs loved romping in the water while we relaxed out on the dock. We had a fabulous time and will highly recommend Brower Cottage.

Enjoyed our time at Brower Cottage. The description and photos are spot on except in person the property is much better. Very clean and the kitchen has everything you need and more…. Our favorite activity was sitting above the lake and enjoying the quiet during the week except for the birds and chipmunks talking to each other. A plus was “Salt of the Earth” restaurant in Fennville where we ended up eating several times. Plenty to do in the area and close to many activities…thanks to Joe for being a great host and hope to see you in the future.
Loving the Lake!

The cottage was absolutely fantastic and had breathtaking lake views to boot. Conveniently located to the adventures we choose, including Sagatauk State Park and Crane’s Pie Eatery, we were absolutely in heaven for our weekend getaway. It made it all the better that we were able to bring our furry friends! We will definitely be returning.

We loved our stay at Brower Cottage. It is rare to find a great, clean house to rent that allows pets. The cottage is so quaint, absolutely spotless and is on a super piece of property. We enjoyed the lake every morning and evening. Two swans were floating on the lake every morning. Our dogs were in Heaven fetching their tennis balls on the lake and running around. There were 6 of us and the accomodations were very comfortable. The location can’t be beat. We went apple picking at Crane Orchards and shopping in Saugatuck. Not to mention, the quick drive over to Lake Michigan and the great beaches nearby. Fall is a wonderful time to visit, but with all the floats and lake toys in the boat house, it is very tempting to come back in the summer!!
Thank you for providing an awesome rental!!

We had a fantastic stay. No complaints whatsoever. We booked a last minute stay and Joe was extremely helpful in setting it up. Really good guy. The location is great. The cabin is very private and the view overlooking the lake is a pleasure to wake up to each morning. All the amenities are very clean and convenient. Plenty of things to do in the area and great places to shop and eat. The cabin is about a mile from downtown Fennville and Saugatuck/Douglas is one quick exit away. We would stay there again in a minute and very likely will.

What a wonderful property! Right on the beautiful lake. Property was clean & well maintained with a beautiful room overlooking the lake. The owner even called us the morning of our arrival to confirm everything was ready, then called again after our stay to confirm all was good. We will be staying here again!
terrific early October weekend
5/5 – Stayed Oct 2010
WOW what a great lake view to wake up to! The cottage sits atop a hill, offering a fabulous view from the large windows in the living/dining area. That alone is worth renting the property for. Other reasons we chose this waterfront cottage were the proximity to downtown Fennville, Crane Orchards, nearby Sauguatuck, the fact that our dog was welcome, and last but not least, fishing right from the dock outside. The owner was very amicable and made sure we knew to contact him with any questions. They also provide a Brower Cottage binder with easy instructions, FAQs, restaurant menus, and pamphlets on things to do/see. It is nice to stay somewhere that feels quiet and secluded, yet is not too far from what the area has to offer! Another great thing about the cottage is that it has a lot of little things that you might forget to bring with you, especially in the kitchen, like tin foil and plastic wrap. We only cooked there one night but the extras came in handy. The whole place was very clean and very cozy and we wish we could have stayed longer. Overall a terrific weekend and we plan to recommend the place to our neighbors. Thank you!
Lovely weekend

One of our best vacations yet

I highly recommend brower cottage. We have two boys 4 and 6 and the place was absolutely perfect. The swimming is great, fishing is excellent and views are wonderful. We truly had a wonderful time! Be sure to get some pie from Crane’s orchard. It is one of the best apple pies I have ever had. Also, if you are in a need for speed one day you can rent a speed boat in holland and take it out on Lake Michigan. Overall, everything is very close by and easy to get to. The owner also does a great job making sure that every detail is taking care of so you have a nice stay.
Perfect getaway.

We truly enjoyed our week at Brower Cottage. Ample space, plenty of quiet, gorgeous sunsets and views of the lake at any time of day. Absolutely loved sitting out on the dock with coffee and a book, taking out the rowboat, enjoying meals on the deck or indoors overlooking the lake. The cottage was equipped with much more than the bare necessities—you really need only bring yourselves! We loved being able to bring along our family dog, who enjoyed paddling around in the water and sniffing up all that fresh air beyond belief. Nearby Crane Orchards provided lots of fun cherry picking and pie tasting, and we really enjoyed venturing into town (Salt of the Earth – great place). All in all, we had a marvelous time, and hope to return next summer! Thank you, Brower Cottage, for a perfect getaway.
We’ll be back!

Brower Cottage was the perfect getaway for my entire family (ranging in ages from 1 year to 56 years). Our tastes vary but the cottage is such a short distance from everything that everyone could do their own thing.
The location is perfect – plenty of shade from the trees and an amazing view of Lake Hutchins. The fishing and the swimming was great! The cottage was fully stocked so that the only thing we needed to bring was food & beverages. I haven’t stayed somewhere before that had EVERYTHING! We did bring a queen-sized air mattress that the living room had plenty of room for and still had room to fit the pack n’ play next to it! The cottage itself was so clean and modern – a rarity in rentals in my experience. The entire family thought this was a wonderful place and we never agree on anything. We hope to make Brower Cottage a tradition.
Cozy Cabin

My husband and I have never rented the away cottage, we usually opt for the Bed and Breakfast. We decided to try Brower Cottage to get away for a long weekend to kick off summer. We couldn’t have chosen better!
The property was clean, in perfect working order, the view from the deck and from the windows is fantastic. Things are Hutchins Lake are laid back and quiet. Sitting out on the pier with a good book is divine!
The cottage is close enough to town to go have some adventures, go to the beach, do your thing – but it is SO nice to be able to come “home” and have your own little BBQ and relax.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great getaway.
And, to top all of this off – the owner is so friendly and provided exceptional customer service – really exceeded every expectation in this department.
Brower Cottage is Great!

We loved this cottage and the windows overlooking the lake. The cottage is very comfortable and doggy friendly, which is very much appreciated by us “good” pet owners. The owners are awesome. The lake, the row boat, the pier, the fishing, the campfire w/smores, a new restaurant discovery in Saugatuck, the apple picking, the dune rides, the pies and apple cider donuts at Crane’s – oh my god.
What a find !

We spent a delightful week here in early Sept enjoying the well-planned, very well equipped cottage. The dock with Adirondack chairs was our sunset spot, having enjoyed the kayak and hammock during the day. The dog was in heaven swimming in the lake and were happy the deck was gated so we had no worries of her wandering off during dinner.
The cottage was obviously newly renovated, nicely decorated with many thoughtful touches like lots of hooks in the bathroom. The cottage was very clean with linens and even fresh white towels provided. Views are amazing from inside, on the deck or down at lakeside on the dock. Adjacent to Crane’s Orchard (great cherry pie) and near the towns of Fennville, Douglas, Saugatuck, Dunes, not far from Holland. So many options for outings, eating, drinking, fruit picking, sampling great local beers and wines.
The owners thought of so many conveniences — like a keypad to open the door programmed with your phone number! They provided many tips and suggestions on the local area. We highly recommend it and will be going back for another relaxing vacation ourselves.

We had the best time at Brower Cottage in October – we went for a week-long honeymoon! It was everything we had hoped for and more, with all the creature comforts of home (and then some: cable, WI-FI, washer/dryer, video library, games, etc.) I can’t say enough about how wonderful the cottage was and how much we enjoyed our stay. The hosts thought of everything and have such a beautiful, relaxing property – we can’t wait to go back (our dogs too!) Thanks again for a fabulous honeymoon!

Magical place! The view from the wall of windows facing the lake is worth the trip alone! The kids caught fish off the pier, the dogs thought they were in dog heaven with the pier and water. We loved the remodel, great taste in redecorating. The owners were great to work with and the cottage was well equipt. We want to stay there every fall! The area is awesome for kids and adults – dune rides, apple picking, haunted corn maze, winery, Saugatuck and Douglas just down the road and best of all, we just loved the peace and tranquility of the cottage (with swans on the lake I might add). Thanks for letting our dogs come too!
We loved the cottage!

We loved the cottage! The view from the dining and living room was beautiful. Very cosy and comfortable. It was just rehabbed so everything was new and clean. The pier was perfect for our dogs with stairs leading down into the water. It would be great for kids too. We really enjoyed the two-seat kayak – the lake was like glass. The location of the cottage was ideal. It was set in a quiet corner of the lake next to an undeveloped wooded area. You are also next to an apple orchard and just a few minutes from a winery – loved it! The owners are very helpful and considerate of your needs. A really great experience, highly recommend Brower Cottage! Thank you Joe and Jamie
